Scope
School layout budget estimation
I built Scope for Meteor Education as the sole developer, turning supplied designs and a complex set of budgeting requirements into a complete web application.
My Role
Sole Developer

What went into it
This project required independent ownership across application architecture, relational data modeling, interactive interfaces, calculation logic, authentication, imports, document generation, testing, and production deployment.
- Laravel
- PHP
- Livewire
- Tailwind CSS
What I worked on
The product
Scope is a school budgeting system built for Meteor Education that helps teams turn project requirements into detailed estimates. Reusable school, facility, and asset templates provide a starting point, while enrollment, grade ranges, quality levels, and project-specific adjustments shape the final budget.
My role
I was the sole developer responsible for building the application from the ground up. I owned the technical architecture, database design, backend, frontend implementation, calculation logic, testing, and deployment. The visual designs were supplied, and I translated them into the finished product. I met weekly with the Meteor Education team to review progress, clarify requirements, and make sure my technical decisions matched the direction of the product.
Modeling complex rules
The core challenge was turning a large set of connected budgeting rules into an interface that remained understandable and responsive. I built a central calculation system so estimates, dashboards, charts, shared views, and PDFs all used consistent numbers.
Building for real use
Beyond the main estimate workflow, I built the administrative tools needed to operate the product, including authentication and permissions, data imports, template management, user administration, shareable estimates, PDF generation, and background processing for larger jobs.
